Rare early printing of this beloved children’s book which tells the story of three young black boys travel from Alabama to Harlem. A unique look at race, prejudice and how society changes (and stays the same) between the South and the North in the early 1900s.

Jacket protected in archival sleeve but with some rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including chipping, creasing and tears, especially to corners and spine ends. Blemish to top right corner of front cover from sticker removal. Faint soiling to boards from handling and wear around the edges, including bumped corners. Binding is firm and spine is straight.
