Vintage MCM Impressionist Oil Painting of Shoppers in Euro City with Color Pops

This Vintage MCM Signed Original Painting is another fine example of an artist who has mastered the Mid-Century painting style: scratchy with loose, quick paint strokes. It’s amazing how all of those quick strokes lines ultimately come together to produce a detailed art piece like this. I particularly love how the artist has almost sketched everything in black and then adds just a few pops of color in places. Just enough color to make the piece seem more alive but not so much as to distract from the sketch-like quality of the buildings.

Perhaps the artist had little time to paint, or perhaps they are emphasizing the beauty of the city in its simplest form. Those random pops of color I mentioned earlier warm his painting. Use them to play off of colors in your MCM or modern home decor. I spot mustard yellow, burgundy, red, blue, and teal. I have another painting from this Mid-Century artist, Nirlog.
