Vintage hard to find Gort Blue Cap bird figurine is in excellent vintage condition with no damage. Hand painted in deep rich colors. Charming positioning of bird as he dips down to fetch a berry. Back stamp GORT by Jacob, 63- Blue Cap
This whimsical lil fella would look adorable in any space and neatly fits in with many decors. These are such rare bird figurines because the Gort Company closed its doors 9 years after opening in 1944 .
Although they were initially very successful in the USA they struggled to compete with cheaper foreign imports in the 1950's. They closed their doors in 1954.
